Job Summary:
Blue Ridge Vision is looking for fashionable, social, motivated, expeditious and detail oriented individuals. Optical, insurance and/or retail experience is a plus, but not required. Responsibilities & Skills include but are not limited to…
- Assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses based on prescription and individual needs
- Take accurate measurements of customers’ eyes and facial features
- Provide recommendations on lens options, frames, and lens coatings based on customer needs and preferences
- Adjust and repair eyewear as needed
- Educate customers on proper eyewear care, maintenance, lens options, coatings, and frames to help them make informed decisions
- Process orders for eyewear and contact lenses along side coordinating with lab technicians for lens preparation
- Bill patients for materials and file insurance claims
- Keep the optical area clean and organized
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and prescriptions
- Previous experience in sales or retail environment is preferred
Qualifications
- Retail sales experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology
- Previous experience in optical sales
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing processes
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with EMR systems and Epic
- HIPAA compliance knowledge
- Ability to work with patients of all ages, including pediatrics
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
